resolution was presented to Dr. Allan MacDougall,
District Director of Information Technology. He
is being honored with the 2006 Technology Leadership
Award from the State Chancellor's Office and served
recently as Interim Vice Chancellor, Technology
and Learning Services.
President David B. Lang reported
that earlier in the day the Board evaluated the Chancellor.
He commented that Chancellor Mathur
is one of the most hard-working and diligent employees
he has known, with a passion for continuous improvement
and dedication to students. Issues to be addressed were
also discussed. The Board also evaluated their own performance.
President Lang commended board members for the passion
and dedication they bring to the job.
President Nancy M. Padberg extended
congratulations to Trustees Milchiker and
Wagner. Since all three incumbents
are running unopposed in the election, they are essentially
of the Board Thomas A. Fuentes extended
his congratulations to Trustees Milchiker, Padberg
and Wagner on their re-election.
Marcia Milchiker thanked
the public for believing in her and Trustees
Padberg and Wagner. She talked
about the recent issue of Today's Woman in South
Orange County magazine and the cover story featuring
SC and IVC students.
John S. Williams congratulated
Trustees Milchiker, Padberg, and
Wagner . He encouraged fellow trustees to attend
the Chancellor's Opening Session and Faculty Association
luncheon this week.
Trustee Elizabeth Kelly reported on
attending the state student trustee workshop and other
regional meetings. OC
recently printed a piece on Trustee Kelly and a fellow
IVC student who received scholarships from the Coca-Cola
Scholars Foundation. She is looking forward introducing
the Chancellor at the Chancellor's Opening Session this

Milchiker, Padberg and Wagner
on their unopposed re-election. He introduced and welcomed
Dr. Andreea Serban , the new Vice Chancellor,
Technology and Learning Services. He reported that enrollment
at both Colleges is up 2% compared to the same time
President Richard McCullough 's written
report included mention of: Chief of Police Harry
Parmer was named to the
Board of the International Association of Campus Law
Enforcement Administrators; fine arts summer and fall
performances; an update from the Division of Health
Sciences, Human Services and Emeritus Institute including
mention of nursing student Lisa Marie Carriger
receiving an award from the American Association
of Critical-Care Nurses; and two new endowed scholarships
for $5,000 each at the SC Foundation.
President Glenn Roquemore 's written
report included mention of: Michael S. Carona Foundation
Scholarship for $2,500 was given to student Stefanie
Alvarez ; 300+ computers are being installed
in offices across campus; student Erit Maor
and psychology professor Kari Tucker
were named award recipients by the Psi Beta
National Honor Society; and environmental studies instructor
Toulouse Engelhardt performed in concert
with the famed jazz band Spyro Gyra.
Provost Robert J. Kopecky 's written
report included mention of: footing and foundations
are going in on the site and the building should begin
arriving in August; full and near full classes offered
through the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies;
and supporting the ChocRide fundraising event to benefit
the Children's Hospital of Orange County on August 20.

reports of SC and IVC.
a grant for $150,000 for SC to implement the Kaleidoscope
Project, a partnership with four middle schools in the Capistrano
Unified and Saddleback Valley Unified School Districts.
resolution to be forwarded to the Governor's Office of Emergency
Services stating that the District has adopted for use the
National Incident Management System and the Standardized Emergency
Management System in California.
